NHSDA Junior Program (grades 6-8)
Goals
- To promote a desire for life-long learning in the field of dance.
- To encourage an understanding of, and an appreciation for dance as an art form, and develop knowledgeable audiences for tomorrow.
NHSDA Secondary Program (grades 9 - 12)
Goals
- To promote a desire for life-long learning in the field of dance.
- To encourage an understanding of, and an appreciation for, dance as an art form and develop knowledgeable audiences for tomorrow.
- To identify honor students (grades 11 & 12) for nomination to the NHSDA Artistic Merit, Leadership and Academic Achievement Award, one of the highest honor programs for dance in the United States.
NHSDA Active Membership Requirements
“As a member of NHSDA, I will lead with kindness, demonstrate responsibility, support my fellow dancers, and use my love of dance to positively impact my studio and community.”
Maintain Good Standing
- Consistent attendance in dance classes
- Respectful behavior toward teachers and peers
- Demonstrate positive sportsmanship at performances and competitions
- • Follow studio policies
Earn Annual Leadership & Service Points
- Junior Chapter (Grades 6–8): 15 points annually
- Secondary Chapter (Grades 9–12): 25 points annually

Complete Required Service and Meeting attendance
- Junior: At least 1 service project
- Secondary: At least 2 service projects
- Attend 2 Meetings organized by members
